sales tools

I believe that marketing and sales should be interconnected to have the most success and one of my strengths is partnering with the sales teams to ensure they can tell the story, providing them with the sales tools and resources needed to not only get in the door but also close the sale.

quick ship box

I’m really proud of this tool, co-developed with the workplace segment director. The program encouraged each account manager to collaborate with his/her client to create a personalized box with quick ship options (ship within two weeks – normal lead times for products are four-eight weeks). It allowed our clients to have larger swatches from which their constituents could choose and took up less space on their shelves than multiple product folders.

“everything matters” sustainability card set

This internal tool was a last-minute addition to our 2016 Global Sales Meeting, so I came up with the concept and did a lot of the outlining and first draft writing, with help from our agency for the graphic design and our internal copywriter for the writing/editing. While our competitors tended to focus on one aspect of sustainability, we were looking at things holistically, following the five Cradle to Cradle certification principles. Our sales teams needed the message simplified and a tool to help them learn, remember, and retell our complex sustainability story.

On a tight deadline, I created the tagline “Everything Matters” to explain that no single attribute was more important than another and show that the comprehensive approach of Cradle to Cradle was the best way to truly be sustainable.

material health ceu

I worked with our sustainability team to take the extremely technical and detailed ideas of material health and distill them into a message that our sales team and customers could understand. Utilizing analogies such as food nutrition labels to explain tools and graphics to simplify complex chemical concepts made the content more accessible. After delivering the content many times, I also developed a leave-behind “cheat sheet” for quick reference after the class.

Great presentation yesterday evening. I like to think that I’m generally knowledgeable about green building product attributes but you certainly made it clear to me how much I have to learn about the tools and resources available for building products material disclosures. I wish more of our chapter’s members could have been in attendance to hear you speak.

education case study

This was the first case study we produced. I interviewed the client, took photos, and wrote the narrative with the help of a copywriter. Our institutional sales teams were desperate for tools to show our solutions, and this simple tear sheet opened the door for discussions about how our products could save time and money for school systems.

education customer video testimonials

Created to give our institutional sales team a tool to overcome the aversion to change and risk that can be prevalent in the education segment. I went for speed over quality, filming the testimonials myself while traveling with account managers, and then working with our internal editors to produce the final cuts.

If you have not viewed the attached "Making the Grade" video please do so immediately. This is a great marketing document that will help you with references.

event materials

Conferences and trade shows were important to our lead generation, but it was easy to get lost in the shuffle of the many vendors and be forgotten when customers returned to their jobs. We also wanted customers to easily be able to find us after we met them at a learning session, cocktail party, or other while grabbing a coffee. These customized “business cards” mirrored our booth design, making it easy to find and remember us. We also packaged our promo items to reinforce our message beyond just a logo.

systems + materials overview

Developed as a quick-reference sheet for sales reps and clients to be able to easily see all of the material and systems categories offered by CARVART.

tear sheet

Created as collateral while consulting with a proptech company. This tearsheet is to be used as a teaser for its salesperson when booking appointments.

neocon quick reference

At Shaw, we printed small memo-sized quick references or “cheat sheets” for our sales rep to quickly be able to find details such as pricing, lead times, custom options, pattern repeats, etc. At CARVART in 2022, I modified the tool to be a digital pdf sized for a mobile phone designed with a clickable table of contents. The sales reps loved it and have asked to have it created for all new launches.
